What is the Better Buildings Partnership?
The Better Buildings Partnership brings together large commercial and public property owners – who are committed to tackling climate change. Developed by the London Climate Change Agency, the partnership develops commercial solutions to make building retrofit projects achievable and demonstrate the returns from improving sustainability and accelerating CO2 reductions.
Specific aims of the Better Buildings Partnership
Members in the Partnership commit to work together to:
- develop commercial solutions with wide spread potential to stimulate sustainable retrofit of existing buildings
- promote cohesive valuation models that reflect the benefits of carbon reductions and improved building sustainability on portfolio values
- develop a range of tools to support retrofit projects including:
a) carbon emissions and sustainability benchmarks.
b) green leases.
c) code for managing agents.
d) best practice toolkit of sustainable retrofit technologies.
e) best practice for listed building and buildings in conservation areas.
- bring together owners and occupiers to stimulate the development of partnership initiatives between them
- disseminate the information and knowledge developed by the BBP
- for selected building stock managed by partnership members – achieve a carbon emissions benchmark
Better Building Partnerships Members
The Better Buildings Partnership is aimed at commercial property owner organisations that own large property portfolios in London and who are committed to take on a leadership role in the sustainable retrofit of buildings.
