Transcript for ‘Ventilation’ video

Fiona: Let’s talk about ventilation.

I’ve got three houses here – two are winter scenarios. This house is really cold in the winter and do you know why? Because it’s badly ventilated so there are loads of draughts.

So what do you do to sort this house out? You block up the draughts, so you’re trying to get it to just right. So you block those draughts up, you get the right temperature, just right as you can see.

This house is actually just right, because it’s got the right amount of ventilation. But if you block up the ventilation too much, it actually makes it too hot.

Now this one’s a summer house, and it’s actually too hot, so what do you do? We open the window of course, and then it’s just right. It doesn’t get any more complicated than that.
